Audit & Finance Meeting Recap – February 21, 2013

Hi All,

Budget season is well underway.  This meeting of the Audit & Finance committee included budget presentations by both Police and Fire departments.  For those who are unfamiliar with how the village budget is constructed – the A&F committee hears presentations from each department.  After those have concluded, they prioritize every department’s budget requests and decide on which ones make the cut.

It is an extremely important step in deciding on what services the village will provide to residents as well as how much those services will cost.  As with all municipal budgets, money is extremely tight and tough decisions have to be made.

During the break in the meeting, I snapped this picture of a Fire vehicle that the department hopes to transition into a tow vehicle for the dive boat housed on the west side of town.
